My furnace lights then shuts off. What is wrong?

What is a cracked heat exchanger?
The heat exchanger is the metal chamber that separates burning gas from your home's air. When it cracks (usually from age or short-cycling), combustion gases (including CO) leak into your supply air. A cracked exchanger requires replacement, not repair, for safety. We inspect with a camera and combustion analyzer on every diagnostic.
How old is too old to repair?
If your furnace is over 18 years old and the repair quote exceeds 50% of replacement cost, replacement is usually the better dollar decision. We will lay out both options with honest numbers.
Do you handle propane furnaces in Phelan and Wrightwood?
Yes. Propane requires different orifice sizing, pressure regulation, and tank-supply diagnostics than natural gas. We are equipped for both.
