Quick answer

Oak Hills ductwork runs $25-$55 per linear foot installed (slight premium for longer runs and rural property access). Most Oak Hills custom homes have 200-350 linear ft of duct, so total jobs $5,000-$19,000.

Why this matters in Oak Hills

Ductwork in Oak Hills.

Oak Hills ductwork is different from Hesperia tract-home work because custom homes have longer duct runs (often 200-350 linear ft total vs 100-200 ft for tract homes) and frequently use multi-zone systems with zone dampers. Larger home + longer duct runs means more total linear footage to seal or replace. Multi-zone systems also need Manual D duct sizing across zones, not just main system, because zone restriction changes airflow per zone. Older 1990s Caughlin Ranch and Caughlin Estates homes often have original duct insulation degraded by 20+ years of attic temperature cycling. Replacement with R-8 insulated flex extends system efficiency and reduces seasonal heat gain/loss in supply ducts. Newer 2010+ Oak Hills custom builds typically have better-sized ductwork from original construction but may still benefit from sealing if joints have loosened over time. We measure static pressure at the air handler during every diagnostic to identify restrictive duct conditions before they cause equipment failures.

Local challenges

What we see on the ground.

Long duct runs in Oak Hills custom homes amplify the impact of attic temperature on supply air. Supply ducts in 140°F+ HD attics gain 5-10°F between the air handler and the register if insulation is inadequate, which kills cooling effectiveness. Longer runs mean more cumulative gain. R-8 insulated flex is mandatory on every Oak Hills full-replacement install. Cramped or low-clearance attics on older Oak Hills homes add labor time. We charge based on actual install complexity, not standard tract-home pricing. Newer 2010+ custom builds typically have standing-height attics with proper flooring that reduce labor. Permits pulled through unincorporated San Bernardino County mechanical permit office (Oak Hills is unincorporated).

You guys were called out to diagnose a missed diagnosis from another company another company in which said that the unit needed to be replaced because the compressor was bad. Your tech came out and was completely professional and incredibly awesome very polite and knowledge worthy.. Not only was the compressor not bad, but it was just simple wiring that had been messed up your tech fix the wiring issues and all is well. I will definitely be using you in the future and recommending you to anybody who needs heating and air conditioning repairs.

Our A/C went out on Wed 08/31at 2:00am, as you know this has been a tremendous heat wave. I called on Thursday, Joseph came out gave me an estimate, ordered the unit and had it installed on Friday. Joseph's technicians worked quickly and efficiently. In my opinion they went above and beyond to get everything installed, keep in mind this is Labor Day weekend. I can't THANK YOU enough. Pricing and financing was amazing as well.

AC went out Monday. Called JC Energy Solutions and spoke with someone right away. They scheduled me for first thing the next day. The techs were on time, friendly, and professional. They diagnosed and repaired the issue fairly quickly without any problems. Unfortunately, the next day, an identical issue represented itself. Although the issue looked the same, it was a different cause. As someone who’s worked in auto repair, home improvement, and customer service in general, I know these things can happen. What sets JCES apart is how they handle them. They were empathetic and apologetic that there was still an issue. They got one of their top guys to come back out first thing the next day and gave a credit for missing one of the causes. They replaced the part no problem and double checked everything was good to go. If you need responsive, professional, friendly, and great value service, I 10/10 recommend JCES!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does ductwork cost in Oak Hills?
Sealing-only $25-$35 per linear ft. Partial replacement $35-$45 per ft. Full R-8 insulated flex replacement $45-$55 per ft. Most Oak Hills custom homes have 200-350 linear ft, so total jobs $5,000-$19,000.
My Oak Hills custom home is multi-zone. Does that affect ductwork pricing?
Yes. Multi-zone systems need Manual D duct sizing across zones, not just main system. Zone dampers and zone control board may need replacement alongside duct work. Adds $1,500-$3,500 to standalone duct jobs.
My older Caughlin Ranch home has 25-year-old ductwork. Should I replace?
Probably yes. Original duct insulation degrades after 20+ years of attic temperature cycling. R-8 insulated flex replacement reduces seasonal heat gain/loss and extends system efficiency. Worth combining with system replacement to share mobilization labor.
How long does ductwork installation take in Oak Hills custom homes?
Larger custom homes with 200-350 linear ft of duct take 3-5 days for full replacement. Sealing-only jobs 1-2 days. Cramped attics extend timeline.
How much does ductwork cost in the High Desert?
Sealing-only jobs run $25-$35 per linear foot. Partial replacement (bad runs only) $35-$45. Full replacement with R-8 insulated flex $45-$55. Average HD home has 100-200 linear ft of duct, so total jobs typically $2,500-$11,000.
How do I know if my ducts need replacing?
Signs include: rooms that never reach setpoint, high summer electric bills, dust accumulation around registers, visible duct sag, and uneven temperatures between rooms. We measure static pressure and inspect with camera to confirm.
Is duct cleaning worth it?
DOE notes that routine duct cleaning rarely improves indoor air quality on its own. Worth it after rodent contamination, post-fire smoke, or major remodels that left construction dust behind. Not a substitute for a clean filter.
